Alvey and 'Green Business'

The environment has become an essential issue today. Posing questions that we also ask ourselves every day. And that’s precisely why Alvey has decided to integrate more and more environmental aspects into the development of installations for our customers and within our organisation itself.
Alvey is taking concrete steps to make the qualitative and quantitative impacts of installations and developments more environment-friendly. But without affecting their technical qualifications and qualities. Examples of the first steps are the use of high-quality motors that are better for the environment and including ‘eco-modes’ on the installations.
We’re well aware that it’s sometimes difficult to make the performance of an installation ecologically sound without impacting the customer’s requirements, but we’re trying to weigh the advantages and disadvantages to at least strike a happy medium.
In line with this train of thought, it is undeniable that our company’s ‘way of life’ must be re-examined as well. So, our new offices (which should be ready in 2012) will be built ecologically, particularly with regard to the insulation. Where possible, we’re using recyclable materials and products, like recycled paper. Our computers are programmed to turn themselves off automatically in the evening. We encourage those of our employees who have a company car to choose a 'green car'. And we offer extra options on green cars as an additional incentive.
There are still a number of points that we need to work on to make our future greener and more ecological – because the ‘Green Business’ is our business, too.
